Girly Mom

This was way more fun than I’d like to admit.

1. I love my family. (Easy #1, I know.)

2. This is the first time I’ve ever blogged.  Is that a word?  Am I doing this right?

3. I LOVE Sarah McLachlan.  She’s the reason for our third child.

4. I love my Mac and my iPhone.  I don’t care if that makes me a conformist.  They make me happy.

5. I thank my parents for teaching me to have faith in God.

6. I thank my husband for helping me to make that faith stronger.

7. I hate needles.  I still cry when I have to get a shot.

8. I would like a tiny tattoo but… (see above).

9. I smile a lot.

10. I am not a geek, but I really like geeks.  I married one.

11. I’m vertically challenged.

12. I can probably eat more crab legs than you.

13. I LOVE the color white.  I have lots of white furniture, white sheets & white shirts.

14. I live for beach vacations.  I’d like to live at the beach some day.

15. One of my favorite vacation spots (besides the beach) is NEW YORK CITY.

16. My husband is my bestest friend ever.

17. I’m a little obsessive about throwing things away.  Don’t leave something where it doesn’t belong if you ever want to see it again.

18. I loathe exercising but I feel good about myself when I’m done.

19. I shop online A LOT.

20. I don’t like it when my kids have lots of homework.  What do they do for 7 hours everyday at school?

21. I’m a worrier.

22. I hate when everyone stares at me.

23. I despise the fat that hangs over the top of my jeans.

24. I’m good at reading stories to my kids.

25. I love to bake. (Reason for the fat roll?  Hmm.)

26. My husband & I owned a really cool bookstore, coffee shop & cafe’.

27. I could spend all day on a float in the pool.

28. Summer is my favorite season.

29. I’m a good listener.

30. I’m a makeup-a-holic.  Sephora is the mothership.

31. I HATE onions.  Their sick little crunch makes me gag.

32. I love chips with French Onion dip.  Go figure.

33. I had a miscarriage.

34. I love curling up with a book on a stormy day.

35. I like mysteries.

36. I’m quiet & shy around people I first meet.

37. I worked as a docent.  I led people through the corporate headquarters of this really cool company. I told them about the Japanese-style building, famous paintings, sculptures, and furniture throughout the building.

38. I also had a job as a substitute teacher.

39. I love chocolate-covered raisins.

40. I avoid controversy.

41. I’m RH- which stinks if you hate needles and get pregnant.

42. I waited 7 years to have a baby because I was scared of all the needles that would be involved. I now have 3 kids.

43. I get nervous trying new things.

44. I love watching movies, especially romantic and suspenseful movies.

45. I question myself a lot.  Is that a bad quality?  Should I change? (See what I mean?)

46. I hate making phone calls.  I always worry I’m calling someone at a bad time or that I won’t know what to say.

47. I love shoes because I know my size, they almost always fit, and never make me look fat.

48. I love journals.  I have lots of them.  But most of them are blank because I’m scared to mess them up by writing the wrong thing in them.

49. It’s almost impossible for me to leave the house without makeup.  I wish I cared less about stuff like that.

50. I don’t like feet (unless they’re attached to a small child).

51. I love to have my feet rubbed.

52. I love raspberry sorbet.

53. The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite places to eat.  And don’t get me started on the cheesecake.

54. Tulips & calla lilies are my favorite flowers.  I also love Hibiscus plants.

55. I don’t know how to garden.  I wish I did.

56. I don’t know how to get money from an ATM.

57. I can’t do a cartwheel.

58. I took four years of Latin in high school.

59. I am afraid of high, open spaces.

60. I’m afraid of being a bad mother.

61. I overreact to little stuff my kids do.  I hate that.

62. I like doing Sudoku puzzles.

63. I LOVE playing card games.  I will undoubtedly beat you.

64. I trash-talk when I’m playing card games.

65. Coke icees are sooo yummy.

66. I love coffee but I have to doctor it up with lots of cream & sugar.  I guess it’s more cream & sugar with a few drops of coffee.

67. My favorite color is any shade of blue you see at the beach.

68. I’ve never had a broken bone.

69. I’m an aquarius (the best sign seeing as how I love the water so much) but I don’t believe in any of that zodiac stuff.  It’s fun to read though.

70. I’m good at Pictionary even though I can’t draw.  Before you play on my team, just know that I draw every animal  exactly the same then add the defining features so you can guess what it is.  You’ll just have to see.

71. I love the big soft pretzels you buy at the mall.

72. I’m not a crier (unless I’m pregnant or getting a shot).

73. I have migraines.

74. I have blue eyes.

75. I love getting pedicures.  I nod a lot because I can’t understand the technician & don’t want to risk hurting her feelings by asking her what she said.

76. I make the BEST chocolate butter-cream icing!

77. I also make fabulous chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies.

78. I worry what people think of my home.  Will they think it’s horribly messy or that I’m style-challenged?

79. I make up words.  People might think it’s funny, but I do it a lot because I can’t remember the real words.

80. I have a difficult time making decisions.  I overanalyze everything.

81. I love making lists.  I just forget where I put them.

82. I like cool pens, but I’m not obsessed with them like my husband.

83. I saw Elvis in concert when I was little.

84. The best concerts I’ve been to are Sarah McLachlan (Afterglow tour), U2 (Joshua Tree tour), INXS (Kick tour - this was my first date with my husband) & the GoGos (Vacation tour).

85. I planned my wedding, with lots of help, in FOUR months.  That scares me every time I think about it.

86. I like people who make me laugh.

87. I love seeing Broadway shows.  Wicked & Steel Magnolias are my favorites so far.

88. I like eating breakfast for dinner.

89. My pancakes almost always turn out perfect.

90. It’s hard for me to write good things about myself because I try hard not to think I’m better than others.

91. I love picture frames.  I have so many that they’re in stacks under my bed and in my closet waiting to be used.

92. I have a hard time saying no, but I’m getting better.

93. I have a handbag problem.  Well, that’s what other people call it.

94. I don’t like country music (ok, just a few songs).

95. You’re Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins almost makes me cry everytime I hear it.

96. I love my OB/GYN.  How many people can say that?

97. I forget what I’m saying mid-sentence all the time.  Maybe I’m, oh, I, what?

98. I’ve been to Jamaica, mon.  That’s the farthest I’ve been from home.

99. ADD!  That’s what I was gonna say.  Maybe I’m ADD.

100.  I’m bad at starting things, but good at finishing them.
